Welcome to my domain...if you dare...

Welcome to my blog about life as a writer and the craziness it involves with struggles of daily life. Make yourself at home but only if you don't mind a little messiness from time to time. This isn't the Home and Garden blog or Martha Stewart so don't expect cute little crafts with homemade goodies. That's not happening in the world of vamps, weres, and other things that go bump in the night...well...maybe homemade blood cakes topped with 'scream a la cream' sweetness along with the sexy alpha males who serve it up.

Tempting Tuesday...Deep Thoughts

I bet he's thinking...."Hmmmm, I wonder if she likes her whipped cream with extra licking on top?"

Never can tell.  What do you think?

Writer's Wednesday...Kellie Kamryn

Today I'm so excited to welcome author, fellow Ass Cheek Angel and good friend, Kellie Kamryn, to the blog.  Thank you, Kellie, for taking the time out of your busy schedule to join us today.

First, you've been one extremely busy lady.  I'm humbled and in awe of all the many book releases you've accomplished within the past year.  I'm dying to hear all about your road to publication.

Me:  Was your road to publication a delightful stroll in the park or a tiring jog over hot coals?

Kellie:  I received a few rejections but mostly I perfected my craft and networked a lot until I felt
confident enough to submit my work somewhere. I think with the pieces I have out, I found the best homes for them.

Me:  Do you have critique partners?

Kellie:  I have some wonderful critique partners who are very picky with me and not afraid to tell me what they think or how to make it better. The first time you write a piece, it’s for yourself. If you want to publish it, you want to make it better for others to read. I think where authors go wrong is in not listening to anybody
else. Sometimes you have to take an opinion with a grain of salt. But most of the time, other people you trust have some good points to make. Remembering it’s one person’s opinion is important, but if they make a GOOD point, take it to heart and see if you might not want to change your story a little.

Me:  What was the best advice you were given leading you to getting published?

Kellie:  Another author told me to join the Romance Writers of America. Best decision I made because it allowed me to attend conferences, and learn the craft from people who have been there.

Me:  Well since you've joined RWA, What is your favorite writing conference which you've attended so far?

Kellie:  I’ve only been to two – RWA nationals 2010 and the Moonlight and Magnolias conference in Georgia, 2011. I had a blast at both and hope to attend both again.

Me:  What did you do to celebrate when your first book was published?

Kellie:  I screamed and cried with my kids, and then I went back to editing. I may have had some chocolate…

Me:  I know a lot of authors who like to listen to music while they write, inspiration, or just a pick me up. What music are you listening to lately?

Kellie:  I listen to Nickelback newest album almost like it’s a religion, LOL I have my iPod with everything from instrumental to dance music. Depends on my mood.

Me:   How likely are people you meet to end up in your next book?

Kellie:  Not bloody likely! I take personality quirks, or a physical description of someone and then build a character around it.

Me:  If you could switch places with one of your characters would you?

Kellie:  Oh any of them! They all have great sex and fall in love! LOL

Me:  LOL!  So true....well, that leads to my next question.  Will you share some personal inside scoop with all of us; such as telling everyone about your real life romance.

Kellie:  Uh…no. ;)

Me:  *laughs*  No pressure, sweetie.  Uh, let's move on then.
So if you were going to cast the hero of your book, what actor would get the part?

Kellie:  In my newest novel, Justin Black would be played by Tom Welling of Smallville fame.

Me:  Ohhh, that's sounds real interesting.  I love Tom Welling!  That'll give me a great visual now.
Tell us a little about your New Release: REBOUND, Book 1 in the Love and Balance series.

Kellie:  Oh, I'd love too!  Here's a sneak peak at 'Rebound':

Rebound (Love and Balance 1)

Blurb:

An award-winning choreographer must face the only man she's ever loved then lost when they are teamed up to work together at a gymnastics camp for Olympic hopefuls.

Claire LeMay is at the top of her game - she's head of a prominent gymnastics facility with her gymnasts winning awards for her outstanding choreography. Now her biggest challenge is to coach alongside the man she's avoided for three years after he demanded she live in his shadow instead of forging her own path.

After sinking every penny of his inheritance into his state-of-the-art gymnastics facility, Justin Black has achieved his dream. But even with hundreds of members and well-trained coaches, when Claire's presence invades his space, he reluctantly admits she's the one thing missing in his life. Oblivious as to why she walked out on him three years ago, he attempts to call a truce. As their old passion tumbles out faster than a gymnast sprinting down the vault runway, they realize they are in the same impossible position as they were three years ago. Are they destined to repeat the same old routine or will they be able to choreograph a new one?

Excerpt:

They packed the picnic basket in silence. As he was about to put the box of chocolates away, he opened it, plucked one from the box, and offered it to her.

She opened her mouth so he could deposit the chocolate on her tongue. His fingertips brushed the inside edge of her mouth. Dear God, she wanted him so much cell of her body ached.

Her breath caught as he gently grasped her chin in his hand, and slowly lowered his lips to hers. Her mouth opened for him, and his tongue wound around hers. Even though they’d tangled tongues last night, it felt like their first kiss all over again. Their tongues swirled around and around, melting the chocolate. He slid his fingers into her hair, and she clutched his shoulders, desire spiking hard in her gut and made her pussy ache. As if sensing it, he groaned, delving deeper, his tongue sweeping long, languid strokes against hers.

When the chocolate melted away, he nibbled her lower lip. A small moan escaped from her throat.

She pulled back from him, chest heaving as she stared into his eyes. Something swelled within her heart— something she had once squashed down and left to suffocate in a dark corner.

Love. She’d never stopped loving him, and she never would. The thought should have terrified her, but right now, sitting here in the sunshine with him, it felt right, so she chose to bask in it.

His eyes roved over her. “After the dinner meeting tonight, can we spend some more time together alone?”

A flush stole over her body at the low tone of his voice. Yes. She wanted that more than anything. “Will there be more talking involved?”

His broad palms brushed over her shoulders and down her arms. Her skin sizzled under his touch. Lust gleamed in his eyes. If one kiss did this to them, she couldn’t wait to get him into a more intimate setting.

“Whatever you want. You tell me.”

He’s letting me choose. She raised her chin. “Maybe I don’t want conversation.”

“Maybe I don’t either. Rules?”

“No rules,” she promised, and then winked. “Dares are another matter.”

Me:  I so can't wait to get my hands on this!  I loved your other releases, 'Pleasure Island', and 'Monkeys, Sex, and Other Birthday Surprises', and 'Going For Gold', too!  Great reads indeed, sweetie.

Me: So here are some non-writing questions for you. First, What is your favorite time of year?

Kellie:  Summer! I love the sunshine, the beach and just plain getting outside to enjoy warm temperatures since it’s so cold here in the winter.

Me:  Second one. Tropical or European vacation?

Kellie:  That would depend on who I’m vacationing with, but both!

Me:  Now the last one here is writing related. It may be last but it certainly isn't least.  What advice would you give aspiring authors?

Kellie:  Learn your craft and don’t give up. Publishing your work isn’t for the faint of heart. You’ve got rejections, promotion and lots other things that go along with being a published author. Learn to take some things in stride and remember what is really important to you.

Me:  Great advice for sure, Kellie!  Thank you so much for joining me today.  I really enjoyed it.  Best of luck with all your publications and all your future writing endeavors.

Tempting Tuesday...Do You Fear Me, Love?

Sasha's body tensed up from Vladimir's touch. Not because she dreaded it, quite the contrary. Her whole body hummed with a deep satisfaction with just the slightest brush of his fingers against her skin. Hell, she almost climaxed each time this male just said her name let alone touch her in any sexual manner.

“Are you afraid of me?” The words warmed and tingled the nerves along her neck. They were a mere whisper into her ear as he growled out the question.

“No.” Did her voice actually sound that shaky? “No.” She said again. More to convince herself than anyone else.

Vladimir brushed back the dark auburn hair away from her face and nuzzled his nose against her ear lobe. “You smell.....divine.”

“Do I?” She swallowed down a gulp.

“Yes. But I also smell fear.”

“I’m not afraid of you.” Her voice quivered as she fought to keep her body from responding to this man’s touch. She hated the fact that she had no control over her own body.  It was has if it had a mind of it's own and had no problems with betraying her wishes. The problem was that Sasha couldn't actually blame her body for reacting to Vladimir's touch.  Hell, she wasn't sure if she even wanted to ignore him.  She just knew that she didn't want to have a reaction to his touch, his voice, his anything. But damn him to hell. He did affect every essence of her being and she couldn’t, wouldn’t allow that to happen.

“Oh, I believe you are. Afraid of me. Do you think I’ll hurt you, love?” He murmured into her hair. His hands gently grasped her shoulders then slowly spanned downward to her waist.

She clenched her jaws to keep from saying something she’d regret but realistically there’d already been plenty of things she did regret. Saying something stupid or inappropriate was the least of her list of ‘not so great’ moments. Reluctantly she squeaked out a response, “You won’t hurt me.”
A chuckle tickled the nape of Sasha’s neck. “There’s other ways to hurt someone. It doesn’t have to be physically. And not all physical hurts are painful either. Some have actually been known to bring a person ultimate pleasure.”

When she didn’t reply verbally, Vladimir’s heightened senses acutely picked up on the tiny hairs on Sash’s arms standing to attention. Not to mention the tightening of her lace teddy across her breasts and her rapid shallow breathing. “So the question remains up for debate, what frightens you? Being hurt? Or actually enjoying it?”

“I told you. I’m not afraid of you or what you’ll do. I don’t believe you’ll hurt me anyway.” She fought to ignore his sensual touch on her skin and keep her gaze away from him. She blinked several times to keep her eyes from wanting to turn around and face him. If she faced him, she realized her will power would crumple. Hearing his husky voice next to her ear played enough havoc on her sensory overloads.

“You’re right. I won’t hurt you, Sasha.” He nipped her earlobe to make a point. She gasped at his aggressiveness but quickly squelched it. Vlad’s laugh burst out from her reaction. “Yes, love, I won’t hurt you…not unless you want me to.”
